Laurel Kids

Laurel Kids Ministry serves children from birth through 5th grade. Our main goal is to help children develop a lifelong faith in Jesus as they learn God’s big story of the Bible.

Ministry Overview

We find it important to emphasize relationship-building among our Laurel Kids and leaders in all our activities in addition to learning about God’s Word and how to live a life for Him. We offer Sunday morning classes for all ages at 9:30, as well as nursery care (ages 0-2) and Kids Worship Down Under (ages 3-3rd grade) during our 10:45 worship services. We also organize fun and meaningful events throughout the year, which have included things like VBS and Trunk or Treat, for families from Laurel and the surrounding community.

Laurel Kids Groups

Nursery

Located upstairs, our nursery currently offers a Bible class for infants and one for toddlers & 2-year-olds at 9:30 a.m. Sundays. Teachers use simple and repetitive, yet engaging songs, lessons, and activities with the children each week during this time to introduce them to the love of Jesus and His Word.

Nursery care is currently available for these age groups during our 10:45am worship service, provided by a rotation of volunteer adults and teens. This is a less structured time of play.

Preschool/Kindergarten

Our preschoolers and kindergartners are engaged in a 3-year study through the Bible called The Gospel Project, which emphasizes that the books of the Bible tell one BIG story, all pointing to Jesus! Sunday Bible classes meet at 9:30am downstairs. Kids Worship Down Under is also available for this group during the latter portion of our 10:45am service.

Elementary (1st-5th)

Our 1st-5th graders take part in the same 3-year journey through the entire Bible, The Gospel Project. Activities are designed for their different age levels, and help them focus on seeing how Jesus is present in every story within the bigger story of the Bible. Sunday Bible classes meet at 9:30am downstairs. Kids Worship Down Under is also available (up through 3rd grade) during the latter portion of our 10:45am service.
